Storm damage in St. Martin

The severe weather over the weekend took its toll on local businesses in St. Martin.

Businesses on Lemoyne Boulevard experienced a possible tornado. Trucks and cars were damaged as vehicles were crushed. Some businesses had their roofs of their buildings destroyed from the storm, landing on cars.

Owner of Diz-N-Dat Resale Rick Stratton got a call Saturday night about his building and knew the possible tornado had done some serious damage. “I was sitting out in the street with the cops. They wouldn’t even let me in here. I could tell then that it looked pretty bad. Of course, I was hoping it wasn’t, but when I got here, I found out it was. This morning, with the daylight, it is even worse.”

Stratton tells News 25 if he wouldn’t have closed his shop early on Saturday there is a chance he would not be alive today.
