Stone Elementary celebrates veterans

Several schools across the Coast held events today in honor of Veterans Day. One of those was Stone Elementary.

Students there showed their appreciation for our veterans by hosting a breakfast, followed by a parade.

After the breakfast ceremony, the fun moved outdoors for the parade. Stone High School’s band brought the jams while students at Stone Elementary lined up waving their flags wearing red, white, and blue to say thank you to all the veterans who drove past.

Principal Sandy Danzey says it is important for the younger kids to show their appreciation. “It’s very important to me as a principal and as a leader of this school to teach history to our students so that they have a better appreciation for what our military does for us each. Every day and that we have the best country in the world and we are lucky and fortunate and honored to live in a country where we do have a military that protects us each and every day.”

This is Stone Elementary’s third year hosting this Veterans Day event and each year it continues to grow.
