Stone County Sheriff’s Office warns of jury duty scam targeting residents

STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-The Stone County Sheriff’s Office is sharing that a scam is going around the area.

Law enforcement officials say scammers are contacting residents over the phone, requesting payment.

These issues are over fines, fees, or other issues concerning missing jury duty.

The sheriff’s department says they will never contact someone over the phone for payment.
