Stone County man faces first degree-murder
STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A Stone County man is being charged with first degree-murder after a multiple hour standoff with law enforcement on Friday night.
Orlando Breland was arrested Friday night and charged with first-degree murder. It all happened after Stone County sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Thelma Andrews Road where they found a man dead from gunshot wounds.
Breland was identified as the suspect and found at his home a short distance away where reports say he was shooting his firearm.
Deputies then set up a perimeter and after several hours, smoke was seen inside the home and Breland evacuated his residence where he was then taken into custody.
He’s currently being held at the Stone County Correctional Facility.
