Stone County Library receives large donation of books

The Stone County Library just received a welcomed addition.

A company out of Nevada called Kids Need to Read contacted the library about donating a number of books from a collection.

All together more than 500 new books have found a home at the Stone County Library.

The books range from childrens to up to young adult and will be ready for check out by next month.

Library Branch Manager Sally Parker says they were thrilled to receive the books. “I’m hoping there will be excitement and empowerment because there’s something about a new book in your hand- these are just gorgeous, the art detail and the conditions of the books. I’m really hoping it will put a spark of imagination back in children.”

A representative from the company will be at the library May 19th for story time. Every child who participates will get a free book and magazine.
