Stone County firefighter injured while on the scene of a fatal pedestrian crash on Highway 49
STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A Stone County firefighter suffered minor injuries while responding to the scene of a fatal pedestrian crash on Wednesday night.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 7:30 Wednesday evening on Highway 49 near Diamond Lake RV park.
A Stone County Fire spokesperson says a fire truck that was protecting the scene of the crash was struck from behind by another vehicle in a separate incident. The spokesperson says one firefighter suffered minor injuries, and the other driver was taken to the hospital.
