Stone County Economic Development Partnership holds annual awards
On Tuesday night the Stone County Economic Development Partnership held its annual awards and meeting, recognizing industrial advancements made in the community as well as keeping members updated on current projects within Stone County.
From politicians, to business owners, to school superintendents, members of the community packed into Cottonwood Manor in Perkinston to celebrate the multiple accomplishments of the community throughout the previous year.
For the incoming president of the Stone County EDP, Patty McDaniels Saia, one of the biggest achievements this last year was the growth in new families making their way to Stone County.
“We see so many new people coming in from all over the United States. We have one street imparticular, McHenry, they call themselves Mr. Utah, Ms. Arizona, Mr. Texas because they’re from other places. We think its wonderful to bring their talents and their interests into Stone County.”
Tuesday night provided great examples of the positive work being done within Stone County, but the EDP looks at this year as an opportunity to continue improving the community.
“Now what we’re hoping to do is increase the infrastructure and to provide services to people that we haven’t had in the past that would be nice to have as we grow with our population,” said Patty McDaniels Saia.
