Stock Market game team wins big at Gulfport High

If you want to take stock in a sure thing, get in touch with the Gulfport High School Stock Market Game team.

Both the boys and girls teams competed and won first place in the fall and spring Stock Market Game for region 6.

The Stock Market Game was developed to assist with the financial literacy of students and now while most people are consulting their financial advisors for investing tips and strategies. These talented high school students can maintain their own portfolios. Stock Market Game Team Member Kelsey Hayes said, “We had to learn if we wanted to put a lot of money into it. If it’s a good thing to do or if it was a negative, we wouldn’t do it. If it was in the green it would be something we want to invest in and it took a lot of researching to figure out what type of companies were good for stuff like that. It took a lot of research.”
