Statement from Gulfport Election Commission
GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- The Gulfport Election Commission released a statement after Tuesday’s municipal elections.
The commission said this election saw the highest turnout in years and they are aiming for accuracy and transparency.
Affidavit and mail-in absentee ballots are being reviewed. The commission allows five days after the election for ballots to be received.
The commission and the resolution board will meet on June 10 to process and count those ballots.
Final certified results will be available by the end of next week.
