Statement about rumored threats at West Harrison Middle School

An off-campus dispute between two West Harrison Middle School students sparked rumors of a threat at the school Thursday morning.

A parent called WXXV saying he received a message that the school had received a threat, but that parents should not be concerned and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office had deputies at the scene.

WXXV reached out to Spokesperson Trang Pham-Bui, who issued a clarification, saying: “A situation between two students had occurred off campus. Rumors were started on social media about a threat at West Harrison Middle School today. However, there was no threat to the school or at the school. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department was notified and officers were present at the school per safety and security policy and protocols. Everyone at the school is safe.”
