State of Mississippi Elections Results

It’s been a busy day at voting precincts statewide, with residents heading to the polls to cast their ballots for state and local primaries.
We have your latest results from the polls, beginning with your state positions.
Governor Phil Bryant defeated Mitch Young. Bryant received over 90 percent of the votes.
Three candidates were competing in the Democratic primary for governor. Robert Gray of Jackson was the winner of the Democratic Party. The November 3rd ballot for governor will also include the Reform Party’s Shawn O’Hara.
In the lieutenant governor race, Tate Reeves easily won the Republican primary. Democrat Tim Johnson was nominated for Lieutenant Governor.
Jim Hood and Mike Hurst ran unopposed in the election for general attorney. They will face off in the November election.
Mike Chaney defeated John Mosley for the Republican Party nomination in Insurance Commissioner race. He will face Johnny McLeod who ran unopposed in the Reform Party.
For state auditor, Stacey Pickering wins the Republican Party nomination. He will meet Democrat Joce Pritchett and Lajena Walley of the Reform Party.
Lynn Fitch wins the Republican Party nomination for state treasurer and will run against Viola McFarland who ran unopposed in the Reform Party.
