State Legislator Seeks Alumni Approval

State Representative Steve Hopkins of Southaven introduces a bill which requests the University of Mississippi seek counsel from all alumni members on issues regarding the removal of both the Colonel Rebel mascot and the state flag from flying on campus.
The interim chancellor stated the Confederate battle flag does not represent the university’s core values.
All eight of Mississippi’s public universities have stopped flying the state flag with the Confederate battle emblem.
