State Department of Health shares new guidelines for grandparents to protect infants

As state health officials continue to promote infant safety in many aspects, a new guide is being released to help Mississippi grandparents protect their grandchildren.

The ‘Protect and Prepare Grandparents Guide’ focuses on a few key factors, such as proper vaccinations against whooping cough and COVID-19 to protect babies.

The guide touches on safe sleep habits, such as the proper placement of infants while putting them to bed and making sure there are no other safety risks in their cribs.

This all comes as MSDH officials are trying to lower the rate of infant mortality in Mississippi.
