State Department of Education releases Kindergarten Readiness Assessment
The State Department of Education has released the kindergarten readiness assessment results for the 2025-2026 school year.
For early learning collaboratives, 30.52 percent scored above the target in Fall 2025 while 69.71 percent did in Spring 2026.
As for state invested pre-K classes, 26.87 percent scored above target in fall 2025 while 66.34 percent scored above target in the spring.
Lastly, are the scores for other public pre-k students. In the fall, 26.15 percent scored above target while 56.31 percent scored above target in the spring.
In total, a little over 31,500 students were tested in kindergarten. This assessment provides parents, teachers, and early childhood providers an understanding of what children know and are able to do upon entering schools.
