State Department of Education establishing Mississippi Blue Ribbon School Program

The State Department of Education has established a new program called the Mississippi Blue Ribbon School Program.

This program is taking the place of the since-terminated Department of Education’s National Blue Ribbon Program, that program was terminated in August.

The first three schools selected by the state department of education are all located on the Gulf Coast.

In the category of Exemplary High Performing Schools, Beach Elementary from the Pascagoula Gautier District and Ocean Springs High School take those honors.

Bayou View Elementary School in Gulfport took home the Exemplary High Performing School and Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing School.
