State Department of Corrections welcomes new class of officers

The State Department of Corrections has welcomed a new class of officers at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution last week.

The graduating class completed a program that prepares them for the challenges of prison security.

Trainees also received instruction on inmate supervision and defense tactics.

The graduation ceremony included remarks from the facility’s leadership and special awards to recognize top performers.
