State Auditor Shad White announces run for governor

Even though it’s on the fairly distant horizon, there is a lot of talk about 2027 statewide elections.

Most of the focus is on the governor’s race with Tate Reeves term limited.

Some prominent Republicans are in the conversation, including State Auditor Shad White.

The auditor reached out to supporters this week, talking about the need to raise money for the campaign.

WXXV News 25’s Dave Elliot talked to White about his plans and his strategy.

Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson has already declared and several other state leaders are expected to get in the race.
