St. Stanislaus welcomes incoming students at Rock Night
Although the pandemic caused disruptions to all aspects of life this past year, schools, teachers, and students were among those impacted most by the changes it brought.
St. Stanislaus, however, is looking to the future while celebrating its newest Rock-a-Chaws.
This evening, SSC rolled out the red carpet for its new fall of 2021 students. The event was inspired by the NFL Draft, announcing each student’s name, presenting them with a hat, and then having them pose for a picture.
While future Rock-a-Chaws were having their moment in the spotlight, they were also able to meet teachers and classmates face-to-face, something that has been rare in the age of COVID. St. Stanislaus Principal Gary Blackburn said, “We decided to have this night to introduce them to some teachers, some of our current students, some of our current parents, and then just to get to know each other, so that when they show up in August, rather than jumping right into it, they already have some people that they know.”
Once all applications are reviewed, Blackburn expects there to be close to 60 new students starting in August.
