St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations on Coast Gear Up

With dry weather moving back in this weekend, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations around the Coast are preparing for a big turnout.

The Hibernia St. Patrick’s Day parade has been a staple in Biloxi since the 70s. This year, the parade will start at 2 p.m. with a slightly altered route, which has the parade starting on Coon and Howard Avenue. Parade Captain, Mary McCuster, says this year they are expecting a huge turnout from all over the country.

She says, “We’ve got lots of people coming in, we’ve got people that have been calling in from New York that are coming in that are truly Irishmen and they wanted to have a little touch of the south. We told them come on down we’ll give them some. We’ve got some coming in from New Orleans as well, we’re excited. We’re absolutely excited.”

After the parade, the public is invited to stop by the Biloxi Yacht Club for awards and great Irish food.
