St. Patrick wins archery state championship

One local archery team was surprised with some incredible news recently.

After initially placing runner up in the state championship tournament in April, St. Patrick Catholic High School was given a new trophy showing they’re now the Class 2 MHSAA state champions.

The team who initially won the title was in violation of participation infractions due to ineligible players, giving the Fighting Irish team the title after just three years as a program.

Their top scorers were Hunter Wymore, Mary Weeks, Blake Beale, and Sonora Ritchie.
