St. Patrick High School Invention Fair

Today some of the brightest young minds on the Gulf Coast put their efforts on display at St. Patrick High School’s eighth grade Invention Fair.
The students were tasked with finding a problem and then coming up with their own real world solution by creating something that had never been made before. Participating students then spent the afternoon showcasing their prototypes for judges and classmates.
The Invention Fair is an exercise in critical thinking and problem solving and it also gives kids the chance to get hands on with their school work. Inventor Cole Reeves said, “It shows you how you can use your imagination and just like a normal person, like the person that created, I don’t know, the iPhone or even the toothbrush, you know, just simple imagination can make a big difference.”
St. Patrick High Principal Matt Buckley said, “We try to create students who are innovative, who are creative, who are going to be the future leaders of our state and our nation and are gonna go out and make a difference in this world.”
The Invention Fair is an annual event at St. Patrick High School. You never know, maybe the next big invention will be made right here in South Mississippi.
