St. Patrick High journalism class visits WXXV
We here at WXXV News 25 had a special treat this morning. The St. Patrick Catholic High School journalism class took a field trip to our WXXV News Station.
The class witnessed behind the scenes with the production booth and then went out to the studio floor where the TV magic happens!
Senior Laina Seal even joined Ethan on the anchor desk.
Here’s what the students had to say after their first experience in the news world. Elizabeth Colson said, “Today was a lot of fun actually! I wasn’t expecting it to be as much fun as it was, but I had a really great time. We got to do a lot of cool things and go on the green screen, and Laina got to be on the news and be an anchor for today, so it was a lot of fun.”
Laina Seal said, “It was fun! I was pretty nervous though because the words were really small and I had to read it off the thing, but it was really fun and a really great experience.”
Nikolas Chevalier said, “I’m loving my visit right now! I just met Ethan and made a good friend with him. He showed me around. They’ve got a lot of really cool things here and took a few pictures with my man Liam, and it was a great experience.”
Liam Buchanan said, “It was a great experience! We’re in a broadcast journalism class, so you are kind of thinking about what it’s like and it was a great experience. Not a lot of kids get to come out to the actual news station. We got to go to the room where they record the actual recordings for the news and it was really cool. I got to meet Ethan and experience a possible career route.”
Thank you to the Fighting Irish for joining us today!
