St. Patrick basketball’s Matthew Krass transferring to Gulfport High School
When St. Patrick basketball star Nick Krass signed his national letter of intent with Oregon State back in April, younger brother Matt Krass was three feet to his left.
Although he hopes to one day follow in big bro’s footsteps, little bro is doing it his own way.
If you look on Matt Krass’ Twitter profile, it now says Gulfport High School class of 2024 instead of St. Patrick.
The rising junior transferred over the summer and will play his final two varsity seasons with the Admirals.
Formerly a point guard, Krass says he’s moving off the ball to become a shooting guard, alongside dynamic point guard Kamari Mitchell.
Krass has been playing varsity ever since his eighth-grade year and is coming off his best season as a sophomore, averaging 13 points with more than two rebounds and three assists per game.
Krass tells News 25: “It definitely wasn’t an easy decision at all, leaving some of my best friends was not a simple thing for me to do, but transferring just felt like it would be the best option for the future in many different aspects.”
