St. Martin twins put pen to paper on Signing Day
Two signings for the price of one at St. Martin High School where a set of fraternal twins picked up the pens for two different schools.
Going left to right with girls basketball standout Kaileigh Bilbo, letting the ink dry with Copiah-Lincoln Community College, alongside track and cross-country star Keeleigh Bilbo, signing with Limestone University in Gaffney, South Carolina.
Coaches refer to Kaileigh as the Energizer Bunny at point guard, second on the Lady Yellowjackets in scoring with 12 points per game as a senior.
As for Keeleigh, she holds school records in both track and cross country, having been to state for both as a junior and eager to keep running both at the next level. Kaileigh said, “Oh, I went on my visit and I enjoyed the environment and the way they play.”
Keeleigh said, “It really was because cross country, it ends at college level, and track, it takes you to the Olympics so I want to become pro and go to the Olympics. So doing both is really what I was trying to get in the recruitment process. I really wanted her to sign with me because it would be a special moment because I didn’t want her to sign without me because we’re both going different places. We grew up together. We were born together. I wanted to celebrate this moment with her.”
“I mean we do everything together, so we had to enjoy this moment together.”
Fun fact about Keeleigh, she is planning to major in broadcast journalism and says she looks up to local Olympians like Pass Christian’s Cory McGee and Gulfport’s Brittney Reese.
