St. Martin QB Wayne Overman III Signs with Air Force
Also making the voyage to Colorado Springs to join the Air Force Academy is St. Martin quarterback Wayne Overman III.
There was no shortage of military support in attendance, starting with Colonel C. Mike Smith who is second in command at Keesler Air Force Base as well as a whole platoon of cadets.
Not to mention his family, friends, coaches, and teammates who all made for an overwhelmingly prideful day for St. Martin’s all-time leading passer. “Representing my country is something that I take honor in. Being able to sign this type of scholarship, $450,000 full-paid scholarship is something that humbles me. If I had to say how that moment was it would be life-changing and inspirational. If you put your mind to it anybody can do it,” said Overman.
Overman is the first Yellow Jacket to go Division 1 straight out of high school in several years. Former St. Martin wide receiver Kalem Reddix is already enrolled at Mississippi Gulf Coast.
