St. Jude’s fundraiser Saturday at Southern Comfort Café and Barbecue

Saturday you can eat some good southern cooked food all while benefiting St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
The newly renovated barbecue join, Southern Comfort Café and Barbecue, located off Highway 53 is donating ten percent of their proceeds to St. Jude’s as part of their benefit show. They will have a live band and there will also be arrangements available for separate charitable donations for the hospital.
Owner of the restaurant Lana Flores explains that some of her friends and family members, even her husband, received cancer treatment from St. Jude’s and says it’s their way of giving back and helping others. “Dealing with it as adults, it’s hard. I mean, watching him going through it and Dean, with his wife or for adults, it’s hard, but kids shouldn’t have to deal with it. So, the proceeds, there has to be something out there that can help these kids.”
Southern Comfort Café and Barbecue is located on Mills Road in Gulfport, once known as Belly Up Barbecue. The benefit show is from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.
