St. Clare’s Seafood Festival

A popular Memorial Day Weekend tradition brought seafood lovers to Waveland.

The annual St. Clare’s Seafood Festival brought in crowds from across the Coast. Added for this year’s festival was a car show, bringing in participants from around the state.

The money raised from the seafood festival goes directly to the church which in turn is put right back into the community. John Pucheu with St. Clare’s Catholic Church said, “What the proceeds do is it help pay tuition for some of the kids to go to Catholic school and there’s also for infrastructure improvements and stuff like that.”

St. Clare’s has meant so much to the Waveland community and Pucheu even said a Corvette was donated to be auctioned off to benefit the church.
