Sports Minute 1/04/2016
If you’re a Saint’s fan you’re waking up sad, happy and a little anxious this morning.
Sad because the season is over.
Happy because you ended with a win.
And anxious about the future.
The Saints looked to end their season on a high note yesterday on the road against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Saints and Falcons would battle for four quarters, but the saints’ last game would end in dramatic fashion.
With no time left on the clock Saints kicker Kai Forbath would knock in a 30 yard field goal as time expired to win the game.
Now the question looms will head coach Sean Payton be back next year?
Coaches Fired
Black Monday is the day after the final NFL Sunday slate of games when teams let their coaches go.
Yesterday two teams didn’t even want to wait that long.
The San Francisco 49ers’ Jim Tomsula was the first to go.
Tomsula was fired only after one season with the 49ers.
They ended this season with a five and eleven record.
The Browns’ also parted ways with head coach Mike Pettine.
Following a season ending loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the browns fired Pettine after two seasons.
In those seasons, he coached the Browns to a 10 and 20 record.
