Splash Island opens at Buccaneer State Park Saturday
A fun new attraction will be opening Saturday at Buccaneer State Park.
Splash Island is a 5,000 square foot pool with a 20-foot climbing tower, 26 different water features equipped with slides, and more.
Six cabanas surround Splash Island, each one available for rent with a flat rate of $100 per day. The cabanas include a phone charging station, ceiling fans, sofas, and a hammock.
Beach chairs are available for guests located throughout Splash Island.
With the new attraction ready to go, Director of Operations Stu Rayburn says he’s expecting an increase in attendance. “We created Splash Island which we think will draw a lot of kids in here. Before a lot of our attendance was, you know, based on height restrictions. So, now that the barrier is sort of knocked down, we think and anticipate that our visitation will grow considerably.”
The gates open Saturday at 10 a.m. at Buccaneer State Park in Waveland. Admission is $13 to $18, depending on height.
