Special guest honored at Post Legislative Briefing

On hand during the Post Legislative Briefing was a special guest. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce recognized the longest serving state lawmaker in Mississippi history: Tommy Gollott.

Gollott has served the state of Mississippi for 52 years, 12 years in the House of Representatives and the last 40 years as a senator.

The 2019 Legislative Session marks the last year Gollott will represent Biloxi at the capital, but his impact on the Coast will live on forever.

Gollott will always be known as the ‘Godfather of Gaming’ in South Mississippi. “At the present time we are bringing in over a billion dollars a month and all the annuities that are connected to the gaming industry. It’s a great industry and it has really benefited the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”
