Special events, RV parking details now online for City of Biloxi

Since the new special events ordinances were enacted nearly a year ago, the city has been streamlining the procedure for organizers when holding a special event in the City of Biloxi. And now there is a go-to site with basic information.

Organizers planning to hold an event in Biloxi can now obtain forms and directions on the procedure for having a special event in Biloxi from the city’s website.

By visiting online at biloxi.ms.us/specialevents, organizers will find an online basic guide to special events with definitions, forms, and directions on who to contact before scheduling an event.

The page also lists information for property owners who want to allow recreational vehicles to use their property during a Tier 1 special event, or events that require more than 75 extra personnel hours and/or for which the attendance is anticipated to be more than 1,000 persons throughout the event.

Property owners who intend to rent or lease space for RVs during Tier 1 events are required to obtain a parking permit of $50 from Biloxi Community Development and comply with certain standards. The standards include such regulations as a maximum density of one recreational vehicle per 750 square feet; a parcel’s setbacks clear of any recreational vehicle; a minimum of eight feet separation of vehicles from each other and from other structures, and $10 per space per night.

Property owners who plan to allow visitors to park an RV on their property at no charge during a Tier 1 event must complete an Affidavit for RV Parking and return it to the Biloxi Community Development Department.
