Southern Miss third baseman taken by Chicago in 10th round
With the seventh-to-last pick of the day, USM’s Luke Reynolds went to the Chicago Cubs in the 10th round.
At 308 overall, Reynolds is a day two pick with incredible upside as both the Conference USA Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
He ended his junior season with a .389 batting average and a .551 on-base percentage fueled by his 65 walks which are good for second in the country.
This marks the second straight year and the fourth time as a program that Southern Miss produced two picks in the top 10 rounds.
