Southern Miss running back named C-USA Player of the Week

Southern Miss running back Ito Smith took home Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors for his career day against Louisiana Monroe.
The senior went off for 219 yards on 27 carries which is the first time he’s ever eclipsed the 200 yard plateau at USM.
Kwadra Griggs added three touchdown passes for the Golden Eagles in their 28-17 victory, putting them at 2-1 heading into the week four bye.
Jalen Richard was the last Southern Miss player to go over 200 yards in a game versus Texas State back in 2015.
