Southern Miss returns to MGM Park
Games at MGM Park haven’t been kind to the Southern Miss baseball team. Last year, the Golden Eagles lost to both South Alabama and Tulane in Biloxi. That’s not really a good thing with MGM Park being the site of this year’s Conference USA Tournament.
The Golden Eagles still have a chance to change all that starting tomorrow. With the Shuckers on the road, they’ll be taking the diamond against Nicholls State, looking for their first ever win at MGM. It couldn’t come at a better time with the CUSA Tournament just over a month away and USM lining up to be the top seed in the eight team field.
The Black and Gold are coming off their first series win at Rice since 2008 and are top 10 in the country in runs scored.
The Eagles and Colonels will get things going tomorrow with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. Freshman pitcher and former Gulfport Admiral Alex Nelms will get the start.
