Southern Miss pitching coach accepts ULM head coaching position

They say where there’s smoke, there is fire. In the case of Southern Miss pitching coach, Mike Federico, the rumors turned out to be true. That means his next trip to the mound won’t be at Pete Taylor Park.
Paging the University of Louisiana at Monroe where Federico has officially accepted the school’s head coaching vacancy. According to a release by the university, the two parties finalized negotiations last night, making Federico ULM’s 12th ever head baseball coach.
The USM alum spent the last eight years back at his alma mater helping the Golden Eagles reach four NCAA regionals during that span.
In 2015, Federico took home Conference USA Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
