Southern Miss pitcher Walker Powell named preseason All-American

Southern Miss right-handed pitcher Walker Powell has been named a second-team pre-season All-American by Collegiate Baseball.

A rare sixth-year senior for the Golden Eagles, Powell was dominant in his first four starts of the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, going 3-0 with a 1.24 ERA.

For his career, Powell is 20-8 with a 3.02 ERA, having been a part of three Conference USA Tournament titles and two regular season crowns at USM.
