Southern Miss picked fourth in C-USA West

With the recent news of Southern Miss quarterback Keon Howard’s decision to transfer, it’s hard to project the Golden Eagles in 2018. Today, that was represented in the league’s pre-season poll.

USM was picked to finish fourth in the Conference USA west division as voted on by select media members.

The Black and Gold received one first place vote, but trail North Texas, Louisiana Tech, and UAB and are ahead of UTSA, Rice, and UTEP.

Southern Miss ended 2017 with an overall record of 8-5, losing to Florida State in the Independence Bowl.
