Southern Miss Golden Eagles report for day one of spring practice
This afternoon the Southern Miss football team hit the field for its first practice of the spring, 94 days after painting the Big Easy black and gold with its first bowl game victory since 2011.
That New Orleans Bowl triumph is a lot of things to the USM program, but one it’s not is a stopping point. The Golden Eagles have a lot of work to do in Jay Hopson’s second year at the helm, following the departure of four-year starting quarterback Nick Mullens.
His senior class left Southern Miss in a good place. It’s up to this year’s bunch to hit the ground running.
The Golden Eagles have 13 more sessions leading up to the annual spring game on April 22nd.
