South Mississippi woman receives new car for Christmas

One South Mississippi resident is saying ‘bye-bye’ to Uber and Lyft and hello to her brand new ride.

The team down at Steed’s Collision helped spread some Christmas joy today, surprising Destiny McWilliams with a 2016 KIA Sorrento.

For the past two years, McWilliams and her daughters have been using Uber to get to school, doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and so much more.

With the help of Catholic Outreach and other charities and organizations along the coast, James Steed was able to help provide Destiny McWilliams with some wheels of her own.

“We just felt like it was a good way to give back to the community,” Steed said. “You know our community supports us by sending us business and we just felt like it was a great way to give back in a way that we could potentially change somebody’s life.”

“I originally came to pickup gifts for the girls and was taken away by myself getting a gift as well,” said McWilliams. “I Ubered here. I’ve been Ubering pretty much every where for the past two years because my car has been down. So this is going to help a lot.”

Along with the car, Destiny McWilliams is going home with presents for her daughters, fuel cards, free oil changes, and more.
