South Mississippi teen Abby Bosarge passes away

South Mississippi teen Abby Bosarge, whose story inspired and touched people across the nation, has passed away.

The 18-year-old Pass Christian resident died this morning after her battle with acute myeloid leukemia.

In a post to the Facebook group Abby’s Army, her mother delivered the heartbreaking news, saying “Abby died at 5 a.m. in her own room surrounded by loved ones. It was not an easy passing. She fought it to the very end, but her suffering is finally over. Thank you so much for your unwavering support during the unthinkable. Please continue to pray for our family. The world is a much darker place for us now and we will never be the same again.”

Abby, who was a star high school athlete, graduated early from Pass Christian High in a special ceremony earlier this year.
