South Mississippi schools preparing for return of students
Summer break is winding to a close for many Coast students as some schools start this week.
School gets back in session for Gulfport students this Thursday.
Administrators and teachers are ready to welcome students with open arms at Anniston Avenue Elementary.
Returning to school means students need to be prepared with enough supplies to last the school year.
Assistant Principal Crystal Wade says classroom supplies are important as the school year carries on. “Typically our parents are very good about providing those. Schools are always in need of I can tell you Kleenex, Clorox wipes and paper towels. Those seem to be those things that we go through quite frequently. As you know, things kind of ebb and flow when it comes to, you know, the sick season and things like that.”
Anniston Elementary is having a supply drop off for last minute supplies from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the school.
