South Mississippi delegates prepare for Democratic National Convention

BILOXI-When the Democratic National Convention is called to order next week, eight Democratic activists from Southeast Mississippi will be present to answer the roll call in the Mississippi delegation.
Curley Clark from Jackson County and Anna Gines from Harrison County will represent the Coast as delegates. Hattiesburg will be represented by delegates Melanie Sowell, Stefon Ward, and Lakeylah White. Laurel resident Tanya Gray will serve as a delegate while her fellow Jones Countian Rickey Cole will be part of the delegation as Mississippi’s sole member of the national Platform Committee. Terry Rogers of Clarke County will serve as an Alternate Delegate.
“This is as strong a group representing our region as I have seen in forty years” said Rickey Cole, who also serves as Chairman of the 4th Congressional District Democratic Executive Committee. “From veteran Curley Clark, who is attending his ninth consecutive convention, to young up-and-comer Terry Rogers who is making his first trip, this team will make sure our part of the state is heard from loud and clear as we move forward in support of the Harris-Walz ticket.”
