South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center Annual School Supply Drive

Considering we’re halfway through July, summer vacation will be over before we know it, that also means the start of 2021 school year is right around the corner.

Canopy’s South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center is collecting school supplies for the children they serve.

The center provides services like forensic interviewing to children when there are allegations of abuse, neglect, or violence.

They’re in need of all types of supplies for their children ranging from glue sticks, crayons, colored pencils, as well as ear buds and calculators for older kids.

They’ll be collecting until the end of July and all donations are tax deductible. MDT Coordinator Kristian Dumas said, “Especially coming out of COVID, there are a lot of families in need and with them already having things going on mentally, physically, or emotionally having the right gear to go back to school makes them feel better. It takes a load off the families.”

They’ll be collecting at the following locations:

  • South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center at 2315 17th Street Gulfport, MS
  • Canopy Children’s Solutions Behavioral Health Clinic at 11975 Seaway Road

Canopy’s South Mississippi Child Advocacy Center is also collecting at their center in Pascagoula located on Watts Avenue.
