Snow Brought to Ocean Springs for Kids to Play In

As our friends up north are experiencing snow days, Thursday’s cold weather inspired the City of Ocean Springs to have a snow day of their own!

Actual snow could be found in downtown Ocean Springs Thursday morning at the L&N Depot Plaza. The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce blew snow using a power washer, creating a winter wonderland for young kids to play in. The kids were even joined by their favorite snowman from the movie, Frozen, as they tried to make snowmen of their own.

Cynthia Dobbs Sutton, Public Relations for the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce, says, “The children have been so excited. We’ve had reactions from children not knowing what snow was to children laying down, making snow angels, building snowmen, and we’ve had a few snow fights already.”

The event was such a hit that the Chamber will be hosting a snow day again Friday morning from 8 a.m. until the snow melts.
