Sneak Peek into the Old Biloxi Cemetery Tour

The Old Biloxi Cemetery is once again inviting guests to come stroll through its grounds while actors bring to life the rich history of those buried at the cemetery.

This is all part of the 15th annual Old Biloxi Cemetery Tour.

This evening, community members were given a sneak peek of the tour with a portrayal of one of the many stories passed down through generations about Biloxi’s oldest families.

Additionally, attendees celebrated the rededication of the St. Cyr Zamore Tomb, which had been restored by Nick Black of Nola Cemetery Renewal.

Since last year’s tour was virtual and it was so popular, the city decided to bring back the theme ‘Family Legends and Lore 2’ for a second year. Biloxi Historical Administrator Bill Raymond said, “Really it’s about telling the history of Biloxi and telling it in a different way. And then this tour, especially, is about people telling their own stories. They’re telling their families’ stories. So, everybody that’s in the tour is because their families have submitted the stories of their ancestors and telling those stories and so we’re here to help spread those stories to the rest of the community.”

Tours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, October 19th from 5 to 7 p.m.
