SMSC Elite ’09 Girls makes history
One local youth soccer team is making history and wants to keep making more of it.
After eliminating Louisiana, South Carolina, and Texas, the South Mississippi Soccer Club Elite ’09 Girls team went all the way into penalty kicks with Tennessee in Sunday’s championship game.
The ladies from the Magnolia state came up just short, but they’re still one of just eight teams that qualify for next month’s National President’s Cup in Kansas.
This is the youngest team to make it to this point in SMSC history and only the second girls team to make it this far.
