Smoke Free Movement in Ocean Springs
Seventy percent of Ocean Springs wants to go smoke free. That’s according to a poll by Smoke-Free Ocean Springs, a coalition founded over one year ago.
Coalition members question how this city, known for being progressive, is trailing Moss Point and Pascagoula in having a smoke free law. The coalition is made up of local, state and national organizations, such as the American Heart Association.
The smoke-free movement is about getting a city law passed.
There are currently 129 communities in the state that have already made the move. Other smoke free south Mississippi cities include Diamondhead and Picayune.
