Slow and steady voter turnout in Biloxi

It’s been a very slow, but steady day for the voter turnout in Biloxi.
The polls opened at 7 a.m., but the rain could be a factor in today’s Biloxi mayoral general election with a very low voter count at the Donal Snyder Community Center.
With Biloxi being a very large, popular ward, it’s been expected to have lines out the door, yet only 200 votes have been counted as of 4 o’clock this afternoon and mostly an empty room. Polling Manager Doug Desilvey said, “Yeah, we’re looking at 200, which is low and then the general election, it’s also low, but it’s just the weather and it is what it is.”
Polling managers are urging residents to get out and exercise their right to vote and take advantage of the general elections. They remind people that every vote does count and to get their votes in before 7 p.m. tonight when the polls close.
