Site dedication for Fire Station 2 in Gulfport

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)-A Gulfport fire station damaged in a fire last year is set to be rebuilt.

A site dedication for the new fire station 2 was held this morning on 42nd Avenue.

City officials, fire personnel, and the community came out for the event. Gulfport leaders say the rebuilt station will improve response time and safety for residents of West Gulfport.

You may recall, the previous building caught fire in April 2024 and the firefighters assigned to the station have been working out of temporary quarters since then.
