Singing River Pascagoula Hospital patients celebrate Mardi Gras

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- A special Mardi Gras tradition rolled through the halls of Singing River Pascagoula Hospital, bringing beads, music, and plenty of smiles along the way.

Patients from the comprehensive rehab center and skilled nursing facility took part in a special hospital parade that’s much more than celebration.

Purple, green, and gold filled the hallways at Singing River Pascagoula Hospital as patients became parade riders for the day.

Wheelchairs were transformed into rolling floats, decked out in beads, banners, and bright decorations.

Patients tossed beads and snacks to cheering staff, families, and community members lining the halls.

For many patients, rehab can be challenging, but this cherished tradition offered a moment to just celebrate progress, connection, and community.

Hospital staff and volunteers joined the fun, dressing in Mardi Gras themed attire to mark the season.
